Food For Thought -
When schools closed on March 14 many of our students lost access to daily meals such as the hot lunch program offered at our schools and and Northern Lights is responding with the Food for Thought hamper program. We are well aware that good nutrition is an important factor in how well children perform in school, as well as their general health and well being. In order to assist in this time of crisis we are mobilizing staff and resources to reach hundreds of students and their families. Staff have been busy putting together hampers, and our NLPS transportation department will help deliver the hampers each Tuesday. Any family with Northern Lights students can contact the school directly and we will add you to our list for delivery, which will begin on Tuesday of each week. Contact the school to add your family to our list! Starting next week hampers will also include a frozen meal (prepared by JAWS chef John Dolan) along with some dry goods like pasta and sauce, canned meats, vegetables, and fruit. Call the school or please tell anyone you know who might have a family to who needs a little extra help during this crisis!
Wishing you all the best o health and happiness. Take care, and stay healthy!
